Vatican City Holy Year 2000 Silver Proof Coins

In celebration of, and preparation for, the Holy Year 2000 Vatican City released 6 silver proof coin sets. The first five sets (1995-1999) commemorate events in the life of Christ while the final 2000 issue commemorates the religious and historical significance of the cities of Jerusalem and Rome.

Each set consists of two 10,000 lire silver proof coins in an original plush case. Each coin is 34mm in diameter, weighs 22 grams and is .835 silver.
