Obverse depicts John Paul II looking up to the Virgin Mary and Child. Reverse: Christ teaching disciples; across, TU ES CHRISTUS FILIUS DEI VIVO (You are the Messiah, Son of the living God). Avant-garde style medal, the "dots" and "pinholes" (stars?) are part of the design.
