Vatican Museum Medal Ar 1999 Descent Holy Spirit

Official Vatican Museum Medal, 1999, in silver, .925. Obverse depicts the 1608 fresco "The Coming of the Holy Spirit" by Guido Reni which illustrates the Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles. Reverse: "The Annunciation," an altar piece painted in 1606 by Cavalier d'Arpino and presently conserved in the Vatican Picture Gallery. Eighth issue in the series, started in 1992, commemorating the art of the Vatican Museums. Uncirculated condition and includes original case and certificate. By Gianni Contri.
