Clement IX (1667-69) Piastra NGC AU55

Piastra (Scudo of 80 Bolognini) of Pope Clement IX (1667-69). Obverse: Coat of arms. Reverse: Dove and four seraphim surrounding chair of St. Peter, in rays and on cloud. Around, SPLENDET A MAIESTATE EIVS ("[and the land] was radiant with his glory.") (Ezekiel 43:2). Clemente IX's only piastra. Attributable to Alberto Hamerani. Sharply struck and nicely toned, graded NGC AU 55.
