Leo XIII 1887 A.X Silver Medal with Case

Pope Leo XIII Anno X (1887) silver medal depicting the figure of the Church at center holding a cross and olive branch, Germany to left, Spain right. On Leo XIII's mediation between Germany and Spain over the possession of the Caroline Islands in the Pacific. 43.6mm in diameter, nice, toned About Unc condition, one rim bump on reverse. Case is in poor condition: top is secured with scotch tape to the hinge and there's some staining. Still, it's the first time we've had a case for a medal of this vintage! By Francesco Bianchi.
